Ugh...we dislike pneumonia

Here's the possible diagnosis:

8F88D6F0-FC37-417A-AB76-BB0690F72BF6

We know she has a bacterial infection (medium level and the penicillin given the other day won't kick it) in the lungs...possible pneumonia. Who knows how long she has been sick!     :-/  She has had one shot and we will return tomorrow for a second shot.  She has two oral prescriptions for cough and congestion and we will get an oral antibiotic after tomorrow's appointment.   Pray the fever breaks and we can get medical clearances tomorrow with our course of treatment plan.

Courty and I will get out and head to a safari park with the rest of the people from our group.  Jess and MeiMei will stay back and rest.  Courty could use some individual time and Jess needs sleep so this will work out well.  Now, we need to feed these kiddos and get the youngin' to sleep.

Please pray!

Asking for serious specific prayer for MeiMei's low-grade fever to break.  We cannot get her medical clearances tomorrow if she still has fever...even if it is low grade like she's been running.  If we can't get those, we can't make it to our consulate appointment (court) tomorrow and we cannot leave China until we go to the consulate.  We are headed to an English speaking doctor in a bit to see if we can get her something to clear this sickness.  Please pray over our sweet little one to get better for the sake of getting better and so we can get out of China on time and finally take her home.

Quick little update:
Thursday we did medical, orphanage, and finding site.  Medical was extremely traumatic.  In spite of that, we were able to comfort her and got her first laugh(s).  We had an overall really good day, but had a long night.  She cried many times in the night...previous nights no crying.  We assume night terrors from the traumatic medical and possibly from the cold she's fighting.  And maybe she's testing us to see if we'll console.

Friday, we only did paperwork in the afternoon.  We spent the morning and part of the day trying to force any and all liquids down Meiying as she went without urinating for over 16 hours.  She lost a lot of liquids the day before at medical with all her sweating.  We stayed at the hotel most of the day so she could rest because she definitely was not feeling well.  We received word that her Tb test came back negative so no x-rays needed.  Thank God!  Now we just need her fever to fully break and stay gone.  We all need a full night's rest so prayers for that please.  We also are getting to a point where we need MeiMei to go number 2.  She hasn't since before we received her on Tuesday morning...it's Friday night here.

Observations- she is not a picky eater and will eat anything (wahoo) and that kid has some amazing dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and throwing ability...speed and force.  We've all been popped on the knuckles with the ball...and it hurt!!!

Sisters...and that's Couty's old sleeper Meiying is wearing.

Here is the latest update from Jess and Audra. Their internet access is spotty, and of poor quality, so getting messages through has not been 100% successful. I'll continue to post as I receive updates. Keep those prayers coming! ~ Kaci St. John

Applying for Meiying's passport

"I/we have been working on larger updates, but not sure if we can get them sent. Today (Thursday) we have medical and MeiMei has to get the blood work for her Tb test. Prayers for that...she has a bit of a cold and has had a mild fever (Wednesday). Also, we are going to journey to her orphanage and finding site so prayers for all of us. It will be an emotional day, but one we feel is important for her future as she will have some pictures of her past. She is doing well and we got some smiles out of her Wed afternoon. She is eating well, will eat anything. Seems to like it outside and will walk with guidance. She has not favored Jess or I over the other, but is leery of Courty at times. We had McD's for dinner."
