Adoption Expenses
This is an honest and eye-opening breakdown of where adoption money goes, granted it varies by country. I wish there were more open and honest breakdowns out there because there have been many unexpected expenses that come along the way. We initially did not factor in some of the other expenses (like background checks, certified documents, and special needs application fee) so our costs have risen above what we initially thought. Our agency has been upfront with their costs, however the information they give you covers every country program they do and fees are on multiple pages throughout the document...so it's is easy to overlook something when figuring expenses.

We were honestly thinking we only had a little over $13k to pay until we received our updated paperwork that showed all of the travel/end costs. We had forgotten to add the in-country travel expenses and the post-placements fees in. *sigh* To say we have had moments of panic and stress would be an understatement…but we know all of our needs will be met.
